Where Does GitUp Store Settings on Mac?

GitUp preferences plist, recent repo list and helper tool paths on macOS.

Last updated

GitUp keeps preferences in a standard plist under its co.gitup.mac bundle ID. Theme, channel and launch flags live there. A debug twin exists for dev builds.

History itself stays inside each repository. Recent repo tracking flows through the macOS shared file list. The companion CLI installs to usr local bin for terminal use.

Frequently asked questions

How do I back up GitUp?

Copy the plist with GitUp closed. Repo snapshots and undo live inside each repo git dir through GitUpKit, not in a central store. The shared file list entry tracks recent repos through the standard macOS mechanism.

Where is the bookmarks file?

There is no bookmarks file. The app leans on the system recent documents store for the repo list. Look at the shared file list entry for the bundle ID when the welcome window comes up empty.
