Where Does GridTracker Store Logs and Settings?
GridTracker log files, callsign lookup and app settings on desktop.
Last updated
GridTracker visualizes WSJT-X and JTDX traffic received over UDP multicast, keeping its own log database, worked grids, callsign lookup cache and alert rules in app data per OS. The authoritative QSO log usually lives in the logging program or Logbook of The World.
Settings (multicast address, lookup credentials, audio alerts, map layers) travel with the app data folder. Back it up before version jumps; GridTracker evolves fast and occasionally migrates formats. Log the QSOs in the logger, admire them in GridTracker.
Where GridTracker stores this, by platform
%APPDATA%\GridTracker (logs, settings and lookup cache)
Point WSJT-X reporting at the multicast group GridTracker listens on. Copy the data folder with the app closed for backup. Exact filenames vary by release.
~/Library/Application Support/GridTracker (same role as Windows)
Same UDP wiring and log database. Reach Library through Go to Folder. Keep logging program authoritative; GridTracker is the display layer.
~/.config/GridTracker (plus local log database beside it)
Same layout on Linux builds. Firewall the multicast group minimally so decodes arrive. Back up the folder before major upgrades.
Frequently asked questions
why is GridTracker not showing decodes
WSJT-X reporting is off or points at the wrong multicast address and port. Enable UDP reporting in WSJT-X settings to match GridTracker, on the same machine or LAN, then watch traffic appear.
where is my GridTracker logbook file
In the app data folder as its internal log database, but treat the external logger or LoTW as the real logbook. Export ADIF from the logger for permanent archiving.
