Where Does Hail Track Frozen Apps on Android?

Hail freezes apps via system disable, hide or suspend states tracked in the package restrictions file.

Last updated

Hail does not keep its own save folder for frozen apps. Freezing flips system package states through disable, hide or suspend. Android records those states in its package restrictions, not in Hail's private storage.

The working mode matters. Apps frozen under Shizuku, root or device owner need the same mode to unfreeze. Tags group apps for batch freeze and unfreeze actions. Data and APK files stay on disk while frozen, only launchability changes.

Where Hail stores this, by platform

Android
System package states (/data/system/users/0/package-restrictions.xml, root to browse)

Freeze states in system package restrictions, not app folders. Same working mode required to reverse. Tags batch the actions. Package com.aistra.hail.

Frequently asked questions

How do I unfreeze all Hail apps at once?

Unfreeze everything with the same working mode first, using Unfreeze All or per-tag actions. Frozen apps need the same mode to reverse. Package state clears once every target returns to enabled.

A frozen app is stuck. How do I fix it by hand?

Open the system package restrictions file with root and flip the matching flags. Disabled, hidden and suspended each have their own marker. Wiping data also clears states but costs everything else.
