Where Does HeliBoard Store Backups and Dictionaries?
HeliBoard exports backups as zip files you choose, with live settings under device protected storage on Android.
Last updated
HeliBoard keeps settings, layouts, and learned words in its private app folder under device protected storage. On most phones that is /data/user_de/0/helium314.keyboard. You need root to browse there, so normal backup means export, not file copy.
Use Settings inside HeliBoard to create a zip backup. Save it to Downloads or your own sync folder. Dictionaries are separate files you add from storage, so keep those .dict files with the zip.

/data/user_de/0/helium314.keyboard
Live settings and layout files. Device protected storage so the keyboard works before unlock. Root required to view. Use in-app backup instead of copying this directly.
Frequently asked questions
How do I back up HeliBoard settings?
Open HeliBoard settings and run backup, then store the resulting zip in Downloads or cloud storage. Restore with the matching restore option. The zip holds settings plus learned words, not the system personal dictionary.
Where do HeliBoard dictionary files go?
Download the .dict file first, then add it from HeliBoard language settings or open it with HeliBoard in a file manager. Keep a copy of the file. Reinstalls lose dictionaries that were only in private storage.
