Where Does Honkai Impact 3rd Store Game Data?

Captain level, valkyries and crystals tie to your HoYoverse account on the server. Local files are battle assets and cache.

Last updated

Honkai Impact 3rd splits its data the way every HoYoverse game does. Valkyries, crystals, weapons and story progress live on the game server, tied to the HoYoverse account you signed in with. The phone holds the heavy local layer: character models, combat effects, voice lines, cutscenes and the login session itself. On most devices that folder is one of the largest in app storage, and it grows with every major update.

Moving phones is easy if, and only if, the account was properly linked. An unlinked guest session can strand an entire captain profile, and there is no folder trick that brings it back. Before switching devices, open account settings, confirm the HoYoverse login is bound, then install fresh on the new phone without worry. New captains should also check the server list first, because the global and Asia builds run under different packages and a login only sees characters on its own server.

Where Honkai Impact 3rd stores this, by platform

Android
/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.miHoYo.bh3global

Global build folder holding downloaded models, voice data and session files. The Asia build ships as com.miHoYo.bh3oversea instead. Clearing it signs you out and forces a re-download, but never touches the account.

iOS
/var/mobile/Containers/Data/Application/<guid>/Documents

Per-install container, GUID changes on reinstall, inaccessible without a jailbreak. Full backups copy it, but the HoYoverse login is what restores your captains and valkyries.

Frequently asked questions

How do I move Honkai Impact 3rd to a new device?

Link a HoYoverse account in the settings menu if you have not already, then sign in with it on the new device. Everything comes back from the server. If you played as a guest and never linked, that profile cannot be moved, so link before switching.

Why is the Honkai Impact 3rd folder so big?

Models, combat effects, voice packs and cutscenes are all downloaded to the device, so the folder reaches double-digit gigabytes over time. Reinstalling gets you a cleaner copy that only fetches what the current version needs, at the cost of a long download.

I want to start over on the Asia server. What happens to my global captain?

Nothing. The two servers are separate installs with separate packages, and an account only sees characters on its own server. You can run both side by side, but progress, crystals and purchases never transfer between them.
