Where Are Jet Set Radio Save Files Located?
Jet Set Radio keeps its saves in userdata remote and its config in local, even after Steam delisting.
Last updated
Jet Set Radio stores saves in userdata\<SteamID>\205950\remote and configuration in the local sibling, both synced by Steam Cloud. The two folders sit side by side, so one copy of the 205950 tree preserves the whole game.
The port has quirks worth knowing. A SAVE versus save casing mismatch hides progress that is plainly on disk, and the game left Steam's store in late 2024 while remaining playable for owners. Linux uses the same userdata tree directly. Copy the tree with the game closed; the folders are small and cloud sync is quick.
Where Jet Set Radio stores this, by platform
<Steam>\userdata\<SteamID>\205950\remote
Saves in remote, config in local, under app 205950 with Steam Cloud. Watch the SAVE versus save casing; wrong case hides progress. Delisted but playable; back up regardless.
~/.steam/steam/userdata/<SteamID>/205950/remote
Cloud saves live in the Linux userdata tree under the same app ID. Same casing quirk applies through Proton.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Steam delisting break my saves?
Yes. Delisting removes the store page, not your library. Installed copies keep running and Steam Cloud keeps syncing userdata 205950. Back up the folder anyway, since redownloads depend on Steam keeping the depot.
My progress and graffiti vanished but files exist. Why?
Rename SAVE to save or vice versa in the remote folder. The port reads one casing depending on build, and the wrong case hides the graffiti and progress from the menu.
