Where Does Kasa Smart Store Clips and Settings?
Where the Kasa Smart app keeps camera clips and device settings on Android and iPhone devices alike.
Last updated
Kasa Smart is account led. Plugs, bulbs, and cameras appear from your TP-Link ID after login. Camera video records to microSD or Kasa Care cloud depending on plan. The phone keeps preferences, cache, and manual clips from live viewing.
Manual saves land in the gallery, sometimes under a Kasa folder on Android. Schedules run from the cloud and device, not from phone files. If a camera shows offline, check power and WiFi before clearing app data. Clearing cache is safe. Clearing data logs you out but leaves devices and cloud clips intact.

Frequently asked questions
Where are my Kasa camera recordings?
On the camera microSD for local record, in Kasa Care cloud when subscribed, and in the phone gallery for manual saves. The app Activity view picks the source per camera. Download keepsakes to the phone, since card formatting wipes the local copy.
Do I lose devices if I reinstall Kasa?
Devices, scenes, and schedules follow your TP-Link ID on sign in. The phone holds cache and manual saves only. Reinstalling and signing back in restores the device list. Camera firmware and card footage stay on the hardware itself.
