Where Are Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Save Files Located?

Where Kingdom Come: Deliverance II keeps saves and profiles under Saved Games, and what playline0 means.

Last updated

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II keeps saves in a kingdomcome2 folder under Saved Games, with the actual files in saves\playline0. Settings and keybinds live beside them in profiles\default, so the parent folder is the whole backup: progress plus configuration in one copy.

Graphics options are the odd one out. They live in user.cfg inside the game install directory rather than with the saves, which is why a settings reset after moving PCs usually means that one file got left behind. Saves also sync through Steam Cloud, so pause sync while swapping files by hand.

Where Kingdom Come: Deliverance II stores this, by platform

Windows
%USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\kingdomcome2\saves\playline0

Type %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\kingdomcome2 into Explorer or the Run dialog. Back up the entire kingdomcome2 folder, not just saves, to carry settings along. GOG copies use the same Saved Games path.

Frequently asked questions

How do I back up Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 completely?

Copy the whole kingdomcome2 folder with the game closed. It holds saves plus the profiles folder with your settings, so one copy migrates everything. Restore to the same Saved Games path on the new machine.

What is the playline0 folder?

One active storyline. playline0 holds your current run (manual, auto and snapshot saves together). Starting over writes into the same folder, so archive the old one elsewhere first if the old Henry matters to you.
