Where Does KolourPaint Store Config on Linux?
KolourPaint config and recent files on Linux, plus where your paintings go instead.
Last updated
KolourPaint follows KDE conventions. Options live in ~/.config/kolourpaintrc, while paintings live wherever you saved them.
Recent files and tool sizes sit in the rc file. There is no central library. Copying the rc moves options between machines in seconds.
Where KolourPaint stores this, by platform
~/.config/kolourpaintrc
Main config (tools, colors, recents). State may spill into ~/.local/share/kolourpaint/ on newer builds. Paintings stay in Pictures or your chosen folder.
Frequently asked questions

Close the app and rename ~/.config/kolourpaintrc, then reopen. Defaults return. Your saved BMPs and PNGs elsewhere are untouched.
