Where Does Langflow Store Flows and Settings?
Langflow keeps flows in a local SQLite database under your home folder, plus config and logs beside it.
Last updated
Langflow stores your workspace in a small set of files inside a dot folder in your home directory. Flows, credentials, and users live in a SQLite database there, with settings and logs alongside it. On Linux and macOS that folder is ~/.langflow, and on Windows it sits under your user profile with the same name.
Set LANGFLOW_DATABASE_URL to point at another database when the default file does not fit your setup. Docker users should mount a volume on the data folder so recreating the container keeps history. Stop the server before copying the database file, since a live copy can end up half written.
Where Langflow stores this, by platform
~/.langflow
SQLite database plus settings and logs. Override with LANGFLOW_DATABASE_URL. Exact filenames inside have shifted across releases, so confirm in the app settings if your folder looks different.
~/.langflow
Same files as Linux. If you installed through pipx or a virtualenv, the data folder still lives in your home directory.
C:\Users\[username]\.langflow
Same layout under your profile. Dot folders stay hidden in Explorer unless you show hidden items. Back up with the server stopped.
Frequently asked questions
How do I back up my Langflow flows?
Stop the server, copy the database file from the data folder to safe storage, then restart. Restoring means swapping that file back while the server is stopped. Keep the copy private because it can include credential secrets.
Can I use Postgres instead of SQLite?
Yes. Point LANGFLOW_DATABASE_URL at your Postgres instance and restart. The file location question then stops mattering, since flows live in the external database. Keep the URL in your environment or compose file.
