Where Does Laragon Store Projects and Data?
Laragon keeps projects in www, database data in data, and user settings in usr. The whole folder is portable across drives.
Last updated
Laragon lays out its install folder with short lowercase names, and three of them hold everything you care about. Projects go in www, database files go in data with one subfolder per engine, and your preferences live in usr. The official docs call out exactly these three as the folders to preserve.
The install is portable. You can rename or move C:\laragon to another drive or machine and it keeps working, since services resolve paths relative to the install. Both the document root and the data directory can also be relocated from Menu, Preferences.
Where Laragon stores this, by platform
C:\laragon\www
Document root. Reach it from Laragon Terminal with the DOCUMENT_ROOT variable. Auto virtual hosts map each subfolder to a .test URL.
C:\laragon\data\mysql
MySQL data by default. MariaDB, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL get sibling folders here when you run them.
C:\laragon\usr\laragon.ini
User settings including laragon.ini and custom templates. This folder survives reinstalls and upgrades.
Frequently asked questions
How do I add a new site to Laragon?
Put each project in its own subfolder of C:\laragon\www. Laragon creates a matching pretty URL automatically, so a folder named shop opens as shop.test.
Which Laragon folders do I back up?
Keep www for projects, data for databases, and usr for settings. Everything else (bin, tmp, etc) can be reinstalled from scratch.
