Where Are The Last of Us Part II Save Files Located?

The Last of Us Part II on PC saves in Documents in The Last of Us Part II folder, inside a subfolder named for your account.

Last updated

The PC port keeps saves in Documents, not AppData. The outer folder is called The Last of Us Part II. Steam copies add one inner folder named with your Steam ID. Epic copies skip that layer.

Inside the account folder is a savedata or SAVEFILE0A folder with the live files plus rolling backups. Nixxes documents the backup restore by copying a backup over the live file. For a PC move, copy the entire outer folder so the account layer survives.

Where The Last of Us Part II stores this, by platform

Windows
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\The Last of Us Part II

The numeric account folder varies per user. Inside it, savedata holds USR-DATA plus backup copies. Copy the whole outer folder for a PC move.

Frequently asked questions

How do I restore a Last of Us Part II backup save?

Open the account folder, then SAVEFILE0A. Copy a recent backup file over USR-DATA and remove the backup suffix so it becomes the live save again.

Do Steam and Epic versions share the same path?

Yes. Both storefronts use the same Documents folder. Steam adds an extra numeric account folder inside it, while Epic writes directly below it.

Where are the config settings stored?

That key holds graphics and input options. Saves are files in Documents, not registry values, so leave the registry alone when moving progress.
