Where Does Leantime Store Uploads and Config?
Leantime upload folder and config file paths for Apache installs on Linux project management servers.
Last updated
Leantime keeps task files in public/userfiles inside the web root. Avatars and attachments land there with hashed names. That folder is the bulk of disk growth on active installs.
Settings live in config.php at the web root with database passwords and site URL. Back up userfiles, the config file, and a database dump together. The database links hashed files to tasks, so files alone mean little. Back up all three parts for every move. Files without the database lose task links. Back up dumps with uploads every time.
Where Leantime stores this, by platform
/var/www/leantime/public/userfiles
Task attachment root with hashed file names. Serve with web user ownership. Copy whole tree with the database for migration.
/var/www/leantime/config.php
Database credentials and site URL for the install. Restrict read access to the web user. Keep a copy off the server with dumps.
Frequently asked questions
what do i back up for a Leantime move
Copy public/userfiles with config.php and a MySQL dump. Uploads hold task files and avatars. The config holds database passwords. Cache rebuilds, uploads do not.
where is the Leantime database configured
Open config.php in the web root to read database host and credentials. Uploads stay in public/userfiles regardless. Keep the config private and off version control.
