Where Does Life360 Store Location History?
Life360 keeps history server side with no export: app-private cache only. What screenshots preserve and what deletes.
Last updated
Life360 stores location history on its own servers, not in phone folders. The apps show past routes in a timeline view: a couple of days on free plans, longer on paid tiers. Nothing on the device holds that history in exportable form.
The honest answer disappoints file hunters. Private databases exist under the package name, but normal users cannot open them and the vendor offers no export button. Official help says screenshots are the route for driving records. Deleting the account deletes the history with it.
Where Life360 stores this, by platform
Server side (app cache in private storage)
Package com.life360.android.safetymapd. History views depend on plan length. Private databases need root to read and are not a supported backup route. Screenshot important drives; no CSV or file export exists.
Server side (app cache in sandbox)
Same cloud model as Android. Reinstalls sign back into the same circles and history. Deleting the account wipes history permanently, so capture anything needed beforehand.
Frequently asked questions
Can I export Life360 driving history?
No. The vendor documents no print or file export for drives. Open the day in the timeline and screenshot it. Third-party scrapers break login rules and risk the account, so screenshots stay the supported route.
How far back does Life360 history go?
It depends on the plan: recent days free, longer windows on paid tiers. Anything older is gone from the servers and unrecoverable. Circles and places sync separately and survive longer than trip detail.
Does deleting Life360 delete my history?
Deleting the account deletes its history with it. Removing the app alone keeps server data for a fresh install under the same login. Export screenshots first when leaving, since nothing restores afterwards.
