Lost Soul Aside is an Unreal Engine game, and it saves where Unreal games usually do not. Progress lives in Saved Games\LostSoulAside rather than AppData. Type shell:SavedGames into Explorer to open it. Steam keeps a cloud copy under userdata for App ID 3378960.
The Epic build mirrors the same Saved Games layout under its own account ID. If the game breaks after an update, the Config folder inside Saved is the prime suspect. Deleting it forces fresh defaults while leaving saves alone.
