Where Does Mafia: The Old Country Store Mods?

Mafia: The Old Country takes Unreal pak mods in a ~mods folder under Content Paks. Create it once with the tilde included.

Last updated

The Old Country moved the series to Unreal Engine 5, and modding moved with it to the engine's pak folder. Mods belong in ~mods inside Content Paks under the game install. The folder does not exist until you make it, and the tilde is load bearing, not decorative.

Store clients bury the game folder differently, so open it through the client's browse local files and navigate down to Content Paks from there. The project folder name can vary between builds, so confirm against the mod page. Chapter based saves mean a broken mod can cost real progress, so copy the save tree first.

Unreal pak convention with a manually created tilde folder. Confirm the project folder name on the mod page for your build. Copy saves before testing anything beyond visuals.

Frequently asked questions

The mod does nothing or crashes on launch. Why?

Check the tilde spelling, the pak extension, and whether the mod targets your game patch. Stale pak mods from older builds are the usual cause of silent failures and title screen crashes.

How should I organize multiple mods?

Keep visual mods and gameplay mods in separate subfolders inside ~mods so you can toggle by renaming. Story games hide broken states for hours, so test on a spare save first.
