Where Does Medal Save Clips?

Medal capture folder and library index on Windows, and the Move Clips button that beats Explorer.

Last updated

Medal captures to C:\Medal by default (Clips, thumbnails, Edits, Screenshots subfolders of MP4 files), changeable in Settings, PC Storage, Capture Folder Location. The library index lives apart in %APPDATA%\Medal (clips.json store plus per account databases).

Never move clips in Explorer: the index breaks and clips refuse to play. Relocate with the in app Browse plus Move Clips flow instead. Capture demands local drives only (no LAN, cloud or removable targets), and migration needs the store folder plus account databases plus capture tree together. Mobile apps view only.

Where Medal stores this, by platform

Frequently asked questions

How do I move Medal clips to another drive?

Settings, PC Storage, Browse to the new folder, then the Move Clips button. Explorer moves orphan the index and the library shows unplayable entries.

How do I migrate Medal to a new PC?

Copy the capture folder plus %APPDATA%\Medal (store index and account databases) to matching paths, then install and log in. All three pieces must travel or clips lose their metadata.
