Where Are Megabonk Save Files Located?

Megabonk stores runs and unlocks as progression.json and stats.json inside a Saves/CloudDir folder, nested once more under your numeric Steam ID. That extra level catches people out when they open CloudDir and find only numbered folders.
The files are AES encrypted, so hand editing means decrypting first with a community tool and re-encrypting after. For a plain backup or PC move, a straight folder copy is enough and far safer.

[SteamID] is your numeric Steam account folder. Back up progression.json and stats.json together with Steam Cloud enabled or disabled consistently.

Frequently asked questions
Can I edit Megabonk progression.json by hand?
Only after decrypting it. The game encrypts both JSON files, so direct edits corrupt the save. Use a save decryptor tool and keep an unedited backup first.
I lost my save. Is there any recovery?
Yes. Megabonk has Settings > Other > Recover Save, which rebuilds unlocks from your Steam achievements. It restores achievement-bound progress but not shop silver.
