Where Are MindsEye Save Files and Config Stored?
MindsEye stores saves and Unreal Engine config under a MindsEye folder in LocalAppData, in the usual Saved layout.
Last updated
MindsEye is an Unreal Engine game, and its folders show it. Saves sit in %LOCALAPPDATA%\MindsEye\Saved\SaveGames, with the main progress file alongside per-slot data. Graphics and engine tweaks live in Saved\Config\Windows as INI files, Engine.ini first among them.
That standard layout is convenient for tweaking. Performance guides edit Engine.ini directly, which beats paging through in-game menus. Back up both folders before trying community optimization files. A bad INI edit just needs the file deleted to fall back to defaults.
Where MindsEye stores this, by platform
%LOCALAPPDATA%\MindsEye\Saved\SaveGames
Main progress file is me_save_platform.sav. Copy the folder with the game closed. Works across Steam, Epic, and GOG copies since the path does not depend on the store.
%LOCALAPPDATA%\MindsEye\Saved\Config\Windows
Engine.ini and GameUserSettings.ini. Delete a broken INI to reset that section. Keep a copy of your working files before applying modded optimization packs.
Frequently asked questions
Where is Engine.ini for MindsEye?
In %LOCALAPPDATA%\MindsEye\Saved\Config\Windows. Back it up, edit with the game closed, and remove it entirely if the game misbehaves after your changes. It regenerates with defaults.
Can I move my MindsEye save between Steam and GOG?
Yes. Both builds read the same SaveGames folder, so copy me_save_platform.sav across with both launchers closed. Achievements and playtime stay with each store, only progress moves.
