Where Does MLDonkey Store Config and Servers?

Where MLDonkey keeps config, server lists and temp files on Linux for backup and full moves.

Last updated

MLDonkey centers on one dot folder under home: downloads.ini for options, servers.ini for networks, plus temp and incoming directories for partial and finished files. The core reads everything at startup, so edits need it stopped.

Copy the whole folder with the core stopped for migration. The web and telnet interfaces manage the same files the daemon reads. Large temp states copy slowly; finish or pause transfers first for a faster move.

Config, servers and temp state in one home folder. Stop the core before copying or editing. Incoming files need a separate copy for seeding.

Frequently asked questions

How do I migrate MLDonkey to a new machine?

Stop the MLDonkey core and copy the whole home folder elsewhere. Config, servers and temp state travel together. Incoming files need their own copy from the download directory.

Where does MLDonkey put downloads?

Open the web interface options or edit downloads.ini with the core stopped. The file always shows the live paths. Temp and incoming folders split partial from finished files.
