Nine Sols stores each run in its own saveslotN folder under a RedCandleGames tree. Slot one is saveslot0, so the numbering runs one behind what the menu shows, which matters when cloning runs.
The game hands you the folder directly. Pressing Ctrl Alt O on Windows or Command Option O on Mac in the main menu opens the save path, no Explorer spelunking needed.
