Where Does Nozbe Store Tasks and Attachments?

Nozbe cloud tasks with offline first apps, and where attachments live.

Last updated

Nozbe keeps the master copy in its own cloud (servers in Germany, encrypted backups in France). Projects, tasks, comments and history sync across web, desktop and mobile from there. The apps work offline first and push changes when the connection returns.

Attachments are the separate store. Files added to task comments upload to encrypted cloud object storage, not into the task database rows. Free plans cap storage and file size, so large reference files deserve a second home outside Nozbe regardless of plan.

Where Nozbe stores this, by platform

Android
App-private storage (offline cache; master data in Nozbe cloud)

Works offline and syncs on reconnect. Attachments download on demand for offline viewing. Reinstalling clears the cache; the account restores projects, tasks and comments.

iOS
App sandbox (offline cache; master data in Nozbe cloud)

Same offline first model on iPhone and iPad with push and email reminders. Share to Nozbe from other apps lands in the Incoming view. Deleting the app drops cached attachments only.

Frequently asked questions

does Nozbe work without internet

Yes. The apps queue task changes locally and sync when back online, with conflict handling favoring recent edits. Attachments already downloaded stay readable; new uploads wait for connectivity.

where are Nozbe attachment files kept

In encrypted cloud object storage linked from task comments, cached per device on download. For permanent archiving, keep originals in your own drive too, since plan storage caps and history limits apply.
