Where Does Paprika Store Recipes?

Paprika syncs recipes, menus, and pantries through your Paprika account. Local databases cache per device; exports run as paprikarecipes files.

Last updated

Paprika keeps the recipe box in its own cloud under your account. Recipes clipped from the built-in browser, meal plans, menus, pantry lists, and photos sync across every signed-in device. Each device also holds a local database cache for offline kitchens.

The account is the backup, with file export as the second copy. Paprikarecipes exports bundle everything including images for safekeeping outside the service. Timers and grocery lists derive from the same data, so one sync account covers the whole cooking flow.

Where Paprika Recipe Manager stores this, by platform

Android
Paprika app > Sync (account cloud)

Recipes sync via Paprika account; local database is cache. Exact folder names may vary by version. Export paprikarecipes files periodically as the offline copy.

iOS
Paprika app > Sync (account cloud)

Same account sync as Android across phone, tablet, and desktop. Wait for photo sync to finish on new devices. Keep export files outside the app for safety.

Frequently asked questions

Do recipes transfer to a new phone?

Sign into the same Paprika account on the new device and let sync finish on WiFi. Recipes, categories, menus, and pantries arrive together. Large photo libraries take a while, so wait for completion before cooking from the new screen.

How do I back up Paprika recipes?

Use the in-app export to paprikarecipes format for full backups with photos, or print to PDF per recipe for sharing. Export before major version upgrades; v3 data does not roll back into older builds cleanly.
