PDF-XChange Editor flushes GUI prefs to HKCU on close: Tracker Software branch on V10 and earlier, PDF-XChange branch on V11 plus (verify the leaf in regedit; forum and docs disagree on exact naming). Portable builds instead keep everything beside the exe, keyed by a Portable.dat marker.
Registry exports miss history, presets, stamps and cloud places, so File, Manage Settings, Export Settings (.xces) is the faithful route, scriptable via /exportsettings and /importsettings. Settings live in memory until close, which makes before/after reg diffs the reliable way to find any single key. Group Policy under HKLM Policies overrides all of it. Windows only.
