Where Does Peace Equalizer Store Presets?

Peace Equalizer keeps presets and settings beside Equalizer APO config files. Back up the APO config folder to move everything at once.

Last updated

Peace stores its presets where its engine lives. Equalizer APO owns a config folder with the main config.txt plus includes, and Peace adds its preset files and settings beside them. Point Peace at that folder once and the two stay in sync.

The gotcha is device identity. Windows gives each audio endpoint an ID, and configs reference it, so imported presets sometimes sit silent until reselected for the new machine output. Keep a copy of the config folder before major updates; a broken APO upgrade is fixed fastest by restoring it.

Where Peace Equalizer stores this, by platform

Windows
C:\Program Files\EqualizerAPO\config

Presets and settings beside the APO includes. Back up the whole config folder before upgrades. Reselect the output device after moving machines since endpoint IDs change.

Frequently asked questions

How do I move Peace presets to a new PC?

Copy the whole Equalizer APO config folder to the same path on the new PC, then reinstall both programs in order: Equalizer APO first, Peace after. Device selection may still need re-pointing since audio endpoint IDs differ per machine.

Do I need Equalizer APO for Peace to work?

Peace is a control panel; Equalizer APO does the filtering. Install APO to the audio device, reboot, then install Peace on top. Sound changes nothing until APO attaches to the right endpoint in its configurator.
