Where Are Planetbase Save Files Located?
The Planetbase save files on PC, with colony saves in Documents under a plain folder.
Last updated
Planetbase grows its domed colonies in Documents under its own short folder, with a Saves level holding the settlements. Profile and settings branch beside the saves, keeping colonists with their preferences.
No Steam Cloud watches these domes, so the local folder is the only atmosphere. Copy the Saves directory before the next solar flare season.
Where Planetbase stores this, by platform
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\Planetbase\Saves
Documents location with no studio folder. Colonies are save files in Saves. Profile and settings branch beside it. No Steam Cloud sync exists.
Frequently asked questions
Does Planetbase use Steam Cloud?
No. Saves live only in the local Documents folder, which makes manual copies the entire backup strategy.
How do I back up Planetbase?
Copy the Saves folder while the game is closed. Every dome and colonist travels inside it.
