Where Does Plasma Mobile Store Settings?

Plasma Mobile shell config, device presets and defaults on Linux phones.

Last updated

Plasma Mobile keeps its own settings file apart from desktop Plasma. Panels, device behavior and quick settings live there. Distro defaults sit under system xdg with per-device presets beside them.

The shell launcher can overlay a second copy through the envmanager path. That overlay wins for managed sessions. Note the phone model when borrowing configs from others.

Where Plasma Mobile stores this, by platform

~/.config/plasmamobilerc

Frequently asked questions

How do I back up Plasma Mobile?

Copy plasmamobilerc out of config home with the session stopped. Panels, device and quick settings sections travel with it. Keep device preset notes when moving across phone models.

How is this different from desktop Plasma config?

It uses plasmamobilerc, separate from desktop plasmarc and the desktop applets file. An envmanager overlay can add a second copy under a plasma-mobile subfolder. Check both when edits seem ignored.
