Where Does PokerTracker Store Databases and Hands?

Where PokerTracker 4 keeps databases, HUDs and processed hand histories.

Last updated

PokerTracker 4 splits storage: hands and stats live in PostgreSQL databases, while HUD profiles, site configs and archived hands sit in LocalAppData. The Processed folder collects every imported history file for reimports.

In-app backup zips databases plus optional configs, themes and processed files. Uninstalling either PT4 or PostgreSQL leaves the data folder behind, so disk space only frees when you delete databases deliberately.

Where PokerTracker stores this, by platform

Windows
%LOCALAPPDATA%\PokerTracker 4\

HUDs, site configs and the default Processed archive for imported hands. Databases themselves live in PostgreSQL data dirs. Back up from File, Backup rather than copying live database files.

Frequently asked questions

How do I move PokerTracker to a new PC?

Use File, Backup inside PT4 and include databases plus user data files. Restoring to a new machine means installing the same PostgreSQL version first, then File, Restore with matching ports.

My HUD lags with duplicate hands. What causes it?

Keep the processed folder outside every auto import path. PT4 archives imported hands to LocalAppData PokerTracker 4 Processed by default, and importing from inside that folder loops duplicates forever.
