Where Does PopClip Store Settings on Mac?
PopClip preferences plist, extensions folder and cache locations on macOS.
Last updated
PopClip splits state three ways. The plist holds preferences. Application Support holds extensions and working data. Caches sit separately per install source.
The bundle ID is com.pilotmoon.popclip with a Setapp suffixed twin. Keychain holds the license under the same name. Target all three spots for a full migration.
Where PopClip stores this, by platform
~/Library/Preferences/com.pilotmoon.popclip.plist
Preferences plist for the standalone and Mac App Store builds. Extensions live in Application Support PopClip Extensions. Setapp uses suffixed cache and bundle ID. License in keychain under the same name.
Frequently asked questions
How do I back up PopClip?
Copy the PopClip support folder plus the plist with the app quit. Extensions live in the Extensions subfolder. Restoring means putting both back before launch.
Does the Setapp version differ?
The Setapp build uses a suffixed bundle ID and its own cache folder. Mixing the two cache paths is the usual cause of settings that refuse to stick. Match the paths to your install source.
