Where Does Qpwgraph Store Its Config on Linux?
Qpwgraph config file with node positions and the patchbay file behavior on Linux.
Last updated
Qpwgraph keeps its own UI state in one config file under an rncbc.org folder. Node positions and custom names persist there on quit. This surprises people who look for a qpwgraph folder directly under ~/.config.
Patchbay files are separate and user placed. The app never invents a path for them. That split is deliberate: layout follows the config, routing follows the file you chose.
Where Qpwgraph stores this, by platform
~/.config/rncbc.org/qpwgraph.conf
Canonical UI state file, saved on quit. Holds node positions and custom names. Not ~/.config/qpwgraph, which does not exist. Patchbay saves are user-chosen files with no fixed path.
Frequently asked questions
How do I back up Qpwgraph layout?
Copy qpwgraph.conf elsewhere with the app closed. It saves on quit, so an open copy lags behind. Restoring means replacing the file before launch.
Where do patchbay files go?
Pass a filename when starting it and save through the app. There is no default location. Keep patchbay files with the config backup when a layout matters.
