Where Does Easy Effects Store Presets?
Easy Effects keeps presets in ~/.config/easyeffects, split into input and output folders plus autoload rules.
Last updated
Easy Effects stores everything under .config/easyeffects in your home directory. Output presets for speakers and headphones sit in the output folder, input presets for microphones in the input folder. Autoload rules map devices to presets beside them.
PipeWire handles the audio while Easy Effects only applies the chain you picked. Deleting a preset file removes it from the app on next launch. Back up the whole folder and you keep chains, autoload maps, and plugin states together.

Preset JSON files plus autoload maps. Output chain presets live under output, microphone chains under input. Copy the folder with the app closed.
Frequently asked questions
How do I move Easy Effects presets to a new machine?
Copy the easyeffects folder to the same path on the new machine with the app closed. Presets land in input and output subfolders. Autoload files travel with them, so device rules survive the move.
Why does my preset keep changing on its own?
Check the autoload section first. A device rule may be swapping presets when the sink changes. Rename the preset or adjust the rule, then reselect it for the current device.
