Where Does QuiteRSS Store Feeds and Settings?

QuiteRSS keeps QuiteRss.ini plus feeds database in its config folder on Linux and AppData on Windows.

Last updated

QuiteRSS stores settings in QuiteRss.ini with feeds and article cache in a data subfolder beside it. Linux builds use ~/.config/QuiteRss, Windows builds use AppData Roaming QuiteRss. Portable builds keep the same tree next to the exe.

OPML export moves subscriptions anywhere. The database carries read state and tags that OPML drops. Browser integration helpers read the same database, so run only one QuiteRSS instance at a time. Copy the whole folder with QuiteRSS closed for exact restores.

Where QuiteRSS stores this, by platform

Windows
C:\Users\[You]\AppData\Roaming\QuiteRss

QuiteRss.ini plus data folder with feeds database. Portable mode uses the same tree beside the exe. Match modes on both ends.

Linux
~/.config/QuiteRss

Same layout as Windows. Keep ownership after copy. Filters and labels travel inside the same tree.

Frequently asked questions

How do I move QuiteRSS feeds?

Export OPML for subscriptions, or copy the whole config folder for history too. Import OPML anywhere; the database copy needs matching QuiteRSS versions.

Where is the QuiteRSS database?

In the data subfolder of the config tree per OS. Copy it with the app closed. Never merge two live databases by hand.
