Rain World tracks every slugcat in LocalLow under the Videocult studio folder, with short coded filenames for saves and expedition records. Old installs may still carry a UserData folder from before the 1.9 migration.
The game attempts the migration automatically on launch, but stragglers happen. If a veteran slugcat goes missing after updating, check the install folder's UserData leftovers before mourning.
