Red Alert 2 stores saves as .sav files directly in the install root, wherever that happens to be: classic discs used C:\Westwood\RA2, Origin builds use their own tree. Yuri's Revenge shares the same folder, so both games read one pool of saves.
Modern Windows complicates the old layout. Program Files installs need admin rights for writes, and the Ares mod platform moves saves into a Saved Games subfolder instead. Copy the .sav files with the game closed and match the mod state on both ends. CnCNet installs keep the same root layout as retail discs.
