Where Are Reka Save Files Located?
Reka stores each player's saves as XML files under AppData\RekaGame\Saves, one folder per Windows account, synced by Steam Cloud.
Last updated
Reka keeps saves in %APPDATA%\RekaGame\Saves, with one numeric folder per Windows user account. Inside each folder sit the XML save files, including the slot the game loads when you continue your witch's story.
The per-user split is the part that surprises people. Share a PC and everyone who opens Reka gets a different numbered folder, so nobody overwrites anyone else without meaning to. Backing up your playthrough means grabbing your own folder, not the whole Saves tree. The files are plain XML, small enough to open in any text editor if curiosity strikes.
Where Reka stores this, by platform
%APPDATA%\RekaGame\Saves\<user id>
The numeric folder identifies your Windows user; each XML file inside is a save slot. Steam Cloud syncs them, so a second PC usually picks up your current game on first launch.
~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/1737870/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Roaming/RekaGame/Saves/<user id>
Proton prefix for app ID 1737870. The numeric folder structure repeats inside, so Deck users see one user id per prefix.
Frequently asked questions
How do I back up my Reka save?
Copy your numbered folder out of %APPDATA%\RekaGame\Saves. It holds every slot as plain XML, a few kilobytes in total, so keeping a spare copy on another drive is easy and restoring it is just pasting it back.
I reinstalled Reka and my save did not come back. Why?
Check the Saves folder for more than one numbered folder: a new Windows account or a reset profile gets its own, leaving your old save in the previous one. With the game closed, copy the XML files into your current folder, then launch and confirm before letting Steam Cloud sync.
Can I move my Reka save to a Steam Deck?
Yes. Copy your numbered folder from the Windows AppData path into the Proton prefix at the same location with the game closed, or simply let Steam Cloud do it. Cloud sync is enabled for the game, so the two usually stay in step on their own.
