Where Does Retroid Pocket Store ROMs and Saves?
Retroid Pocket loads ROMs from the microSD card and keeps emulator saves in app folders or on the card.
Last updated
Retroid Pocket devices run Android, so storage splits two ways. ROMs, BIOS files and most saves live on the microSD card. Emulator configs and some save states live in Android app folders in internal storage.
Format the card as exFAT and mount it as portable storage. Let your frontend create its ROM folders on the card first, then add files from a PC. Point RetroArch and standalone emulators at the card so saves stay visible instead of buried in app-private dirs.
Where Retroid Pocket stores this, by platform
/storage/XXXX-XXXX/Games/roms and /storage/XXXX-XXXX/Games/saves (microSD)
ROMs in Games/roms or ROMS per system, saves in Games/saves or per-emulator folders. Keep portable storage so the card reads in a PC. Copy the tree plus internal emulator folders for full backup.
Frequently asked questions
How do I back up a Retroid Pocket?
Copy the Games or ROMs tree from the SD card to your PC, plus any emulator save folders from internal storage. SD holds the library. Internal app folders hold configs that do not move on their own.
Should the SD card be portable or internal storage?
Use portable storage, not internal (adopted) storage. Portable keeps the card readable in a PC card reader. Adopted storage ties the card to the device and complicates every transfer.
