Where Does the ROG Ally Store Game Profiles?
Armoury Crate SE holds the ROG Ally game library, per-game controller profiles, and performance modes. Export mappings as template files.
Last updated
Armoury Crate SE is the home screen of the ROG Ally. Installed games from Steam, Xbox, Epic, and others import automatically into its Game Library, with Favorites and platform tabs for large collections. Each entry carries a Game Profile: button mapping, stick sensitivity, vibration, operating mode, and GPU toggles like upscaling.
Profiles apply when the game launches from the library, which is why a wrong EXE path breaks controls while the game still runs. Check Game Options, then Game Info, when mappings mysteriously stop applying. For safekeeping, export prized mappings as template files instead of trusting reinstalls to preserve them.

%programdata%\ASUS\ArmouryCrate
Armoury Crate SE service data. Exact file names may vary by version, so prefer in-app export for mappings. Game art, profiles, and operating modes all key off library entries.
Frequently asked questions
How do I share a controller mapping?
Highlight the game, press X for its Game Profile, then use Select Template and the gear icon to export the mapping. Share that file or import community ones with the Import button above it. Per-game tweaks like dead zones and vibration ride inside the template.
Does removing a game from the library uninstall it?
No. Removing a tile only hides it from the Game Library view. Uninstall through the original launcher or Windows Add or Remove Programs. Manually added EXE tiles are the usual orphans; recheck their paths under Game Options > Game Info.
