Last updated
Samorost 3 is an Adobe AIR game, so saves sit in AppData under Amanita-Design.Samorost3 in a Local Store folder. Steam Cloud syncs most installs.
Mac builds exist but store rows were never documented as cleanly, so this post covers Windows plus Linux Proton. Copy with the game closed. Exact subfiles may vary by store.
Where Samorost 3 stores this, by platform
%APPDATA%\Amanita-Design.Samorost3\Local Store\
AIR Local Store saves here. Steam Cloud mirrors progress; GOG and Epic use the same tree. Copy the whole folder with the game closed.
~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/421120/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Roaming/Amanita-Design.Samorost3/Local Store
Proton path for AppID 421120. Cloud copies may also sit in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/421120/. Search compatdata/421120 if your library moved.
Frequently asked questions
How do I back up Samorost 3?
Close the game and copy the Amanita-Design.Samorost3 folder elsewhere. Restoring means putting it back with Cloud paused, then launching once to confirm the garden loads.
Can I move Samorost 3 saves from GOG to Steam?
Yes on Windows. Both use the same Local Store tree, so copy across with both clients closed. Launch once offline to confirm chapters load before reenabling Cloud.
