Where Are Samsung Secure Folder Files Stored?
Where Samsung Secure Folder files actually live on Android, and why they stay invisible outside the Knox container.
Last updated
Secure Folder is a separate Knox user on the phone, not a hidden folder in normal storage. Its emulated storage mounts at a different numeric ID than the owner profile. While locked, nothing outside can list it.
The backing paths need root or forensic access and are not user copy targets. Normal moves happen through the My Files app inside the unlocked folder. That design is the point: isolation first, convenience second. The numeric ID can shift after recreating the folder, so treat any guide number as an example rather than a constant.

Emulated storage root for the Knox user, visible only from inside unlocked Secure Folder apps. Backing store and per app data need root. Move files out through My Files inside the folder.
Frequently asked questions
Why can I not see Secure Folder files from my PC?
Knox isolation blocks USB, PC tools and normal file managers from seeing inside. Unlock Secure Folder on the phone, open My Files there, and use Move out of Secure Folder. The files then appear in normal storage where USB can reach them.
Is the Secure Folder storage number always 150?
Usually 150, but Samsung assigns IDs from 150 upward and increments when you delete and recreate the folder. Forensic tools read the current mount table instead of assuming 150. Inside the folder, just use My Files rather than the number.
