Where Are Sand Land Save Files Located?

Sand Land numbers its save slots from 1 in per-user folders under a SANDLAND LocalAppData tree.

Last updated

Sand Land keeps saves per user ID under an all-caps SANDLAND folder in LocalAppData. Slot files are named SaveData with numbers starting at 1, plus a System.sav for global state.

Config sits beside the saves in the standard Unreal layout, which keeps backup simple: copy the whole SANDLAND tree and both halves travel. Steam Cloud syncs the saves with a generous quota, so manual copies matter mostly for modding and cross-machine moves.

Where Sand Land stores this, by platform

Windows
%LOCALAPPDATA%\SANDLAND\Saved\SaveGames\[UserID]

Slot files SaveData1 and up plus System.sav, per user ID. Numbering starts at 1. Copy the whole SANDLAND tree for a complete backup.

Windows
%LOCALAPPDATA%\SANDLAND\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

Graphics and engine ini files (WindowsNoEditor). Separate from progress; reset freely when troubleshooting.

Linux
~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/1979440/pfx/

Proton prefix for the Windows build (AppID 1979440). The SANDLAND tree appears inside the prefix's virtual LocalAppData.

Frequently asked questions

How do the numbered save files map to slots?

Slots start at 1, so the first file is the first slot with no zero offset. Higher numbers are later slots in order, which makes manual slot shuffling straightforward.
