Where Are Ship of Fools Save Files Located?

Ship of Fools keeps a save.bin file in a LocalLow folder named after Fika Productions.

Last updated

Ship of Fools stores its progress in a single file called save.bin. It sits in a LocalLow folder under the Fika Productions name, exactly where Unity games usually put this stuff.

Team17 support points players at this folder directly when progress goes missing. If your unlocks vanish after a crash, check whether save.bin is still there before reinstalling anything. A fresh launch generates a new one, which overwrites nothing but also recovers nothing.

Where Ship of Fools stores this, by platform

Windows
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Fika Productions\ShipOfFools\save.bin

Single save.bin file holds unlocks and run progress. AppData is hidden by default; paste the path into Explorer. Back it up with the game closed.

Frequently asked questions

Can I back up my progress by copying one file?

Yes. Close the game, copy save.bin somewhere safe, and restore it the same way. Support themselves ask players for this exact file when debugging lost progress.

Who should back up in a co-op session, host or guest?

The host's save holds the shared run state, which is why support asks the host for the file. Guests should still keep their own copy in case roles change.
