Where Does SideQuest Store Backups and Data?
Where the SideQuest desktop app keeps APK backups, data and settings on PC.
Last updated
SideQuest is an Electron app, so its working data sits in the per-OS app data path under a SideQuest folder. Inside you get backups for APKs and app data, a tmp area, platform tools for ADB and the scrcpy binaries it downloads on Windows.
The backup path is configurable, but the default is a backups subfolder of that same location. Renaming the whole folder is the standard clean slate fix from the community wiki when the app stops connecting.
Where SideQuest stores this, by platform
%APPDATA%\SideQuest\
Electron appData path. Contains backups, tmp, platform-tools and downloaded scrcpy builds. The in-app backup path setting defaults to the backups subfolder here. Close the app before renaming or copying.
~/Library/Application Support/SideQuest/
Same layout as Windows: backups, tmp and platform-tools under the SideQuest folder. Reach it in Finder with Go, Go to Folder.
~/.config/SideQuest/
Follows the XDG config home. Backups and ADB platform tools live under this folder. Delete it while the app is closed to reset pairings and caches.
Frequently asked questions
How do I back up sideloaded apps before a headset reset?
Open the app data folder and copy the backups directory. Each package gets its own subfolder there, so you can restore single apps without touching the rest.
SideQuest cannot see my Quest. What should I clear?
Close SideQuest and rename the SideQuest app data folder to force a clean state on next launch. ADB keys and cached platform tools regenerate, while your headset pairings need a fresh approval.
