Where Does SiriusXM Store Downloads?

SiriusXM episode downloads with expiry badges and Your Library sync.

Last updated

SiriusXM downloads shows and podcast episodes into app private storage with expiry rules: expiring content carries badges and leaves the device on schedule, and Remove Played Downloads clears finished episodes automatically when enabled.

Your Library (saved stations, artists, shows and alerts) syncs through the subscription account. Live channels never download; only on demand shows and podcasts do. Offline mode still needs the app to open with recent authentication, which trips up airplane mode users with stale logins.

Where SiriusXM stores this, by platform

Android
App-private storage (downloaded shows in-app)

Download per show for offline with expiry badges. Keep the app updated and open it online periodically so authentication stays fresh. Library favorites restore on login.

iOS
App sandbox (downloaded shows in-app)

Same expiry model on iPhone and iPad. Toggle Remove Played Downloads to manage space automatically. Deleting the app clears downloads; the subscription library persists.

Frequently asked questions

why did my SiriusXM downloads disappear

The content expired (check the expiring soon badge), played with auto removal on, or the app data cleared. Redownload current episodes on Wi-Fi. Live radio cannot be saved at all.

why does SiriusXM not work in airplane mode with downloads

The app needs a recent login token to open the library even for cached episodes. Open it online before flying so authentication refreshes, then keep it in the background.
