Where Are Soulmask World Save Files Located?
Soulmask keeps local worlds as world.db plus GameXishu.json under AppData WS, keyed by Steam ID and invite code.
Last updated
Soulmask splits saves by world invite code. Local PCs keep each world in AppData under WS, inside your Steam ID folder, under the app ID, in AutoGames, in the invite code folder. Two files matter: world.db for the world and GameXishu.json for settings.
Dedicated servers use fixed paths instead of invite codes: a Worlds Dedicated tree for world.db and a GameplaySettings folder for the JSON. Moves between solo and server are file copies with renames, never automatic, so match filenames exactly.
Where Soulmask stores this, by platform
%LOCALAPPDATA%\WS\<steamid>\2646460\AutoGames\<invitecode>
Steam ID and invite code folders vary. world.db plus GameXishu files are the world. Generate a fresh world first when importing server files.
/WS/Saved/Worlds/Dedicated/Level01_Main
Server side fixed paths: world.db under Worlds Dedicated Level01_Main, settings JSON under GameplaySettings. Stop the server before replacing.
Frequently asked questions
How do I move a solo world to a dedicated server?
Copy world.db and the newest GameXishu file into a fresh invite code folder from a new solo game. Rename GameXishu_2 variants to the plain name first.
How do I delete one Soulmask world safely?
Delete the world files only after copying them elsewhere. Each invite code folder is one world, so removing the folder removes that world for good.
How do I restore a server backup?
Stop the server, replace world.db and GameXishu.json at the server paths, then start it. Never copy files into a running server or writes collide.
