SoulseekQT downloads into a folder inside Documents by default, not next to the application. The exact folder is configurable under Options and then File Sharing, which is also where shared folders and wishlists are managed. If your path differs from the default, that settings page is the ground truth.
Two subfolders matter. Finished files land in the download folder itself, while partial transfers accumulate in an incomplete subfolder until they complete. Chat logs are a separate optional folder, configured on the same settings page, so conversations and downloads never mix.
