Where Does SpiderOak One Store Config?

SpiderOak One config and local backup metadata paths on Windows, macOS, and Linux desktop client apps.

Last updated

SpiderOak One keeps device state locally and file contents on its servers. Config lives in %APPDATA%\SpiderOakONE on Windows and ~/Library/Application Support/SpiderOakONE on macOS. Linux uses ~/.config/SpiderOakONE. That folder holds keys and backup selections.

Actual file versions download through the app, not from these folders. Back up the config folder to preserve selections and device identity. Keep the password safe separately. Without it the stored selections cannot decrypt server data.

Where SpiderOak One stores this, by platform

Windows
%APPDATA%\SpiderOakONE

Device keys and backup selections for the Windows client. Copy with the app closed when migrating. Logs beside it explain failed backup runs.

macOS
~/Library/Application Support/SpiderOakONE

Same internal layout as Windows. Linux uses ~/.config/SpiderOakONE instead. Preserve permissions when copying between machines.

Linux
~/.config/SpiderOakONE

Follows XDG config home. Holds keys and selection state, not file contents. Restore with matching app version for best results.
