S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 stores saves under %LOCALAPPDATA%\Stalker2\Saved, split by storefront: STEAM, EOS and GOG each get a SaveGames folder of their own. Your saves only ever appear under your storefront, which is why guides quoting a single path send half their readers to an empty folder.
Game Pass copies ignore that tree entirely and save inside a sandboxed package folder with a hashed suffix. The official support page lists every variant, and it is worth opening once: the Game Pass path is effectively unguessable, and the hash differs per install.

How do I back up my S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Zone progress?
Copy SaveGames out of the STEAM folder with the game closed. The two analytics files beside it (AnalyticsData.sav and CampaignsSave.sav) belong with the backup too. Game Pass copies need the same treatment inside their package folder instead.
Can I move a Game Pass save to Steam?
Yes, with renaming. Move the Game Pass SaveGames files into the Steam SaveGames folder and match the Steam slot filenames. It is fiddly and version sensitive, so keep untouched copies of both sides until the transfer loads correctly.
