Where Does Sticky Password Store Its Database?

Where Sticky Password keeps its database and backups. Not Sticky Notes.

Last updated

Sticky Password keeps its database under the Lamantine folder in LocalAppData, with the Database tab in settings managing paths and restore points. Legacy installs used a default.pws file in Documents Sticky Passwords.

Uninstalls ask whether to keep the database, and backups detour to the Recycle Bin instead of vanishing. Premium adds cloud and local WiFi sync, but the disk database remains the source of truth either way.

Where Sticky Password stores this, by platform

Windows
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Lamantine\StickyPassword\

Current database home plus versioned encrypted backups. Manage restores from Settings, Database tab. Legacy default.pws lived under Documents. Uninstall keeps data on yes; backups move to Recycle Bin first.

Frequently asked questions

How do I restore a Sticky Password backup?

Open Settings, Database tab and browse the encrypted backup list to pick a restore point. Local WiFi only and no sync users restore from disk this way, while cloud users can pull from the cloud instead.

Is this the same as Windows Sticky Notes?

Different apps entirely. Sticky Notes is the Windows scratch pad with its own data post here, while Sticky Password is the Lamantine password manager documented on this page. Check the publisher before following either guide.
