Where Does Sublime Music Store Data?

Sublime Music keeps server profiles and cache under XDG paths on Linux. Config, database and artwork cache roots.

Last updated

Sublime Music is a Subsonic client with local profiles. Server URLs, users and UI preferences sit under the config home while artwork and listing caches sit under the local share tree.

That split decides every cleanup. Bloated disk means cache under local share. Lost servers mean the config tree. Music itself never lives here, so reinstalls only cost preferences.

Where Sublime Music stores this, by platform

Linux
~/.config/sublime-music

Server profiles and UI preferences. Back up together with the share tree below. Secrets may need reentry after a move depending on keyring setup.

Linux
~/.local/share/sublime-music

Artwork and listing cache plus the lightweight database. Safe to clear for disk space with the app quit. Profiles stay in the config tree above.

Frequently asked questions

How do I move Sublime Music to a new machine?

Copy the config and local share trees with Sublime Music quit. Server profiles and cache travel together. Passwords may ask for reentry on the new machine, since secret storage does not always move with files.

Where is my music library?

On the Subsonic server (Navidrome, Gonic or similar), not in Sublime Music. The client only caches artwork and listings. Clear the cache folder to reclaim disk without touching the collection.
