Where Does Supersonic Store Data?

Supersonic keeps server profiles, cache and settings in config folders per OS. Paths on Windows, Mac and Linux.

Last updated

Supersonic is a cross platform Subsonic client with local profiles per OS. Server URLs, users and UI preferences sit in config folders while artwork cache sits beside them.

That split decides every cleanup. Bloated disk means cache while lost servers mean config. Music never lives here, so reinstalls only cost preferences when the folder goes missing.

Where Supersonic stores this, by platform

Windows
%APPDATA%\Supersonic

Server profiles and settings tree. Back up with Supersonic quit. Cache beside it rebuilds from the server. Exact folder name follows the product name per OS conventions.

macOS
~/Library/Application Support/Supersonic

Same role on Mac with Application Support conventions. Use Go to Folder in Finder to reach it. Reinstalls find this folder and reuse profiles.

Linux
~/.config/supersonic

Follows XDG config home. Sandbox builds keep their own trees, so check those roots when this folder looks empty.

Frequently asked questions

How do I move Supersonic settings?

Copy the Supersonic config folder with Supersonic quit. Server profiles and settings travel with it. Music itself stays on the Subsonic server, so point the restored client at the same URL. Cache rebuilds from the server while profiles need this tree.

Where is my music library?

On the Subsonic server (Navidrome, Gonic or similar), not in Supersonic. The client only caches artwork and listings for speed. Clearing the cache folder reclaims disk without touching the collection.
